In my former career I used to do a lot of travel on business across Canada and the US staying at all the major hotel chains. It didn't take long to weary of the cookie cutter hotels and the same old meals week after week. That is why my wife and I made the switch to staying at bed and breakfast inns when traveling outside of Ottawa.

We appreciated the friendly atmosphere and could count on staying in a clean, safe and unique place each trip. Of course enjoying a great breakfast was an added bonus. When we envisioned our inn, we were determined to create a B&B with the expectations we had when we traveled.

Although the Black Lab Inn was started with the dog owner in mind, we are finding many of our guests are in Ottawa on business or just visiting the City and are not traveling with a dog. They appreciate the atmosphere here and our location in a quiet, safe neighbourhood and appreciate interacting with our two resident dogs, Bruce & Casey.

We have a secure wireless Internet connection (cable 8 MB/s), cable TV and breakfasts can be served to meet your demanding schedule.

We are not within walking distance of downtown Ottawa (which is a plus from our perspective) but we are a close commute to the airport and highway 416.
